He had a nervous but sweet temperament. After spending time inside everything seemed good so I let him out into my fully fenced back yard. He sniffed around for a while and then the phone rang so I went inside for a moment to grab it, went back outside and the new dog was gone. Somehow he had cleared the 5′ fence. I ran around the side of the house, down the front steps of the yard and into the street looking frantically for him afraid he would find the busy street a block away. After a few moments I looked back at my house and he was sitting on the front porch waiting to get back in the front door, the place he had entered the house once before.

I learned he was very bright, agile, and he could easily clear 7 feet, he just never wanted to leave my side and he never jumped the fence again.

Needless to say we were devasted. Fast forward 10 months we happily rescued a 9 month chichi named Lola. We had had her for about 7 weeks when I couldn’t find her anywhere. I looked outside about 10 times looking for any sign of her, nothing. I searched my house, every nook and cranny call her name, nothing. I took my last look outside with no luck while I was planning my own escape from my house as my panic and fear grew I knew I couldn’t handle losing a second dog and a rescue whom we had just adopted. So I went back inside and was going to have. Shot of tequila to calm my nerves before I fled when I opened the pantry door…….there she was! The only place I didn’t look!! She never made a sound but certainly reacted when I screamed out and began shaking uncontrolably. I never want to go through that again so every time we take the dogs out I do a head count upon reentry to our home! I’m so happy you found Haley☺️☺️☺️

Our daughter thought she lost her new kitten tonight. After many tears and calling every neighbor and searching everywhere inside and around the neighborhood he slid out from behind a piece of furniture looking very much like “Hey, what’s happening?”. I’ve forwarded this to her.
